The balance is a dance I’m still learning
Our consciousness is limitless
Yet our body and physical reality have limitations
At a minimum, we need sleep
food
water
fresh air
movement
We have responsibilities — to others and ourselves
Body/physical reality will always show when our mind has gone too far and is not present in the moment
I have big goals — yet, which step do I need to take now?
I have a beautiful dream — yet, am I noticing joy in the present?
I work so much — yet, how is my body feeling?
I want to be a good parent, succeed in my work, grow spiritually, have a tidy home, have time for my friends and community, and have a passionate and deep connection with my partner — yet, what is possible in the reality I live in now?
Spending a few days at home alone, it became even more obvious that my mind is working non-stop, jumping from one idea to another, running away from the present moment, and how because of that it’s harder for me to be with my kids. Without them, I would have been in the constant go-go-go, and with them, it feel like my big dreams are constantly on hold.
And I can be struggling with this for a long time, but I know it’s time to surrender and see the beauty they are teaching me.
They remind me that the physical and the body have limitations, that I can’t disassociate, and should stay grounded.
They teach me to SLOW DOWN
-make food
-clean the house
-go outside
-feel human connection
And no matter how much i struggle it’s good for me
Because any process or growth needs integration
Time is needed for the changes that happened in the mind to come to the physical form and create new reality
And for the changes to be deep
They need time
WE need time
